Please join us tomorrow, Sunday, February 17th 2019 at 8:00 P.M. for our monthly NYAGDU call. This month we will be continuing our series of calls interviewing guide dog training programs across the United States. Thank you to Lucas Frank of the Seeing Eye who was our guest speaker on our January call. In February we will welcome Lisa Derleth from Guiding Eyes for the Blind. She will share with us what makes GEB unique and speak about their running guides program. You need not be a member of the NFB, NAGDU, or NYAGDU to participate in these calls. Any current, former or prospective guide dog handlers are welcome,, whether you belong to the NFB, the ACB, or neither. These calls are offered through the NYAGDU, but they are open to anyone from across the US or in other countries as well. These calls are intended to provide the knowledge, which we all know = power, to make the most informed and best decisions for ourselves regarding the options for guide dog training programs in our country. Not in the market for a successor at this time? Totally satisfied with your current school? These calls are great for guide dog geeks seeking to know what is happening in the world of guide dogs and are also helpful to individuals working with people who are blind,, such as Orientation and Mobility instructors. The call-in number will be (605) 475-4786 and the pass code is 869480.

Please feel free to share this with friends, family or clients, and on lists and social media groups for various guide dog training programs or guide dog user organizations. (All guide dog training programs in the United States who serve residents of New York State will be invited to participate in these calls. The NAGGDU and NYAGDU do not endorse or particularly recommend any specific guide dog training program. Rather we are seeking to encourage exploration, research, dialogue, and informed decision making for all current and prospective guide dog handlers in New York State and across the United States.)

Heather Bird,

President, New York Association of Guide Dog Users,
