> The Deputy Assistant Secretary serves as the principal advisor to the Assistant Secretary of the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP),on issues and policies related to ODEP's mission, and provides general operational management of the organization through coordination of the agency's administrative, budget, and policy-making activities. In addition, the incumbent is also responsible, but not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities: provides executive leadership to ensure the coordination and development of cross-cutting policies and effective practices to improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities; participates with the Assistant Secretary and other key Government, Department of Labor (DOL), and ODEP officials in formulating and developing policies, objectives, strategic plans, budgets, and goals to ensure the agency provides national leadership to increase employment opportunities for people with disabilities; coordinates disability-related policies, programs and activities of ODEP with related Federal programs (including the Access Board; the Committee for Purchase from People who are Blind or Severely Disabled; Departments of Education, Health and Human Services, Transportation, and Veterans Affairs; the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission; the National Council on Disability; the Office of Personnel Management; and the Social Security Administration.); and promotes the implementation and adoption of policies and effective practices that encourages the full inclusion of people with disabilities in the American workforce by engaging and collaborating with stakeholders in both the public and private sectors.

> Candidates must possess technical and management experience and have developed the knowledge and skills required for effective performance of the specific duties of the position.
