I think we should keep the convention virtual but am open to whatever we
decide.  COVID cases unfortunately are starting to rise again.  I know, too,
with DSB we still have to get approval for overnight travel and stays.

I'm glad to assist with speakers.

Ok, I have several items that I need your help with:  Everyone please go
thru this and give me feedback on what you would like to have done. The more
people who are committed to this organization the better our community
becomes! Remember this is a we not an I effort.

1.   Do you want the spring 2022 state convention in person, hybrid or
virtual?  Please list your pros and cons for all 3.

2. Convention committees ? We have several committees

to join. The more minds and ideas the better the content for the convention.

A.  Speaker/Vendor/Sponsor Committee:  Kyle, Bettye

This can be broken up if others want to work on just sponsors, that would be
super fantastic.

B.  Door Prizes Committee: Tanya, Kelly

This can be gift cards or small gift bags of things donated.

C.  Auction Silent/Regular Committee: Terry, David

D.  Resolution Committee: David, Brent, Donavon, Freddy

E.   Nomination Committee: Jimmy, Donavon, Bryson, Freddy, Bettye, and Kyle

This committee is full. But, you can contact them with any questions.

F.   Registration Committee: Terry, David

Makes sure that everyone is registered and if a member is current on dues
paid for voting, during the convention.

2.   Special Committees:

a.   Looking for 1-2 people to help with making phone calls to people on the
white cane, slate, and stylus lists that are received every month. To make
sure that they are getting the services that they need.

b.  We need to have a membership chair for the state board: I am looking for
someone that can keep in contact with all chapters and divisions on a
regular basis, that can make sure that all paperwork and dues are sent to
the appropriate offices in State and National in a timely manner. Will be
working with National Membership and with our own membership committee
chairs. You do not need to be on the state board to do this.

Any questions please let me know!

c.   Looking for someone that likes to make phone calls/send cards for
birthdays, anniversaries, condolences.

Looking at cards for all occasions in print and braille.

I would like to get your responses back by November 30, 2021. This gives the
convention committee time to hit the floor running, we only have as of today
134 days.
