Thanks Donna, this is of grave concern to me. I think this will be a significant barrier for disabled individuals. They must not silence our voices at the ballot box!

If the story is correct, anyone who signs a ballot petition has to be a registered voter, show their ID to the person taking the signatures, agree to some other Rules, apparently but the one that caught my attention, was to prove that the person understands the proposal and has an adequate reading level to understand the proposal. Apparently, the person signing the petition will have to read back the proposal, the ballot proposal in its entirety to the person collecting the signatures. I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking this could be a huge problem for Arkansans who are blind or have low vision. Also, Arkansans who are elderly and have low vision or their hands shake and they have difficulty holding it Still to read the text. Then there are people who are deaf Who would read it just fine but use sign language rather than speech and would have difficulty reading it back to the person collecting the signatures, and finally people who might be dyslexic or have a learning disability who would understand the ballot proposal like us if it was read to them, but not be able to read it back to the person collecting signatures. Wondering if this is something we need to be asking some serious questions about? What do you all think? Tap on the link and listen to the news story. https://youtu.be/G72XmwOj5Mo?si=KnEdnSh7Cd7Q__KU
