Here are some color recommendations for the Seed Bead Snowflake Ornament Class On Tuesday, Nov 13 at 8pm Zoom info is at the bottom of the email.
This is a beginner of-loom bead weaving project. Size 6 seed beads are required.. Naturally, when we think of snowflakes, the first color that springs to mind is plain white. However, The world of glass seed beads has more than one way to look at the color white.
Seed bead manufacturers have different terms to describe the sheane they apply to the surface of their beads that make them sparkle and/or refract colors when exposed to light.
Aurora Borealis or AB for short, Luster, rainbow, iridescent or iris all give off a rainbow-like refraction so that you can turn that snowflake into a sun catcher by adding a string, hook and suction cup and hang it in a window.
Frosted or Matt finished beads give off a frosty look and feel to the glass.
There are also matalic, galvanized or Duricoat which are terms that describe a metalic alloy added to the surface of the glass.
Cut beads or hex cut beads are faceted which allows for natural light to refract colors.
Some other related colors for snowflakes can be clear crystal, silver or silver-lined beads, ice blue or silver-lined blue, beads that shimmer like moonstone.
Some seed beads come in different shapes and some are transparent which allows you to look completely through the glass or translucent which means you can see only partially through the bead or opaque which means you cannot see through the glass. Color
lined which has an outer color on the outside and other color on the inside.
Now here is what you need for this class:
