This chat time may have played itself out. With the help of Tammy, she and I began doing Friday night hangouts during Covid when everyone was stuck at home. It was away for us all to get together, so we didn’t feel quite so isolated.

Terry P is the volunteer host of the Friday night craft hangout. I appreciate her giving her time to it. The hangout is at 6 PM on Fridays.

Terry says that, for a while now, only one other person has been coming by, and sometimes no one.

Can we change that, or has the hangout run its course?

It can be fun to hang out with other crafters, play show-and-tell with our projects, and chat about this and that. It’s more fun in person, but can be OK online or on the phone.

6 PM is a terrible time for me. I’m fixing or eating dinner, taking care of the dogs, etc. For me, 7 PM would be better. But I realize I’m on the East coast, and people in other places might like a different time. What time might be good? A little later? Some time in the morning, or the afternoon? I know a morning or afternoon time would cut out people who are working. Are those people interested in the hangout? When I was working, at the end of the day I just wanted to flop down and do something mindless, like watch TV. Though I had my knitting in hand while I was watching.

Anyway, do people have any ideas? If no one says anything, I will assume there is no more interest in the hangout, and Terry will be free to spend her Friday evening in any way she likes. Though I know she enjoys hanging out when people hang out with her.

Tracy
