Hi Courtney. Very interesting. I wonder if I could spray peppermint oil
around my planter's edges and discourage squirrels from going after my
seedlings. Could be worth a try.

To help with ants in your mailbox, put a few drops of peppermint essential
oil on a cotton ball and stick it in the very back of your mailbox. In just
a few days, you'll have no more ants to deal with. We had a similar problem
several years ago and I did this and it worked. Also had ants coming in
through the window in our laundry room and wiped down around the window with
peppermint oil.... No more ants! You can also mix up some of the peppermint
essential oil with some fractionated coconut oil and put in a spray bottle.
Spray around where you notice ants and that should get rid of your problem.
This works for most bugs and rodents.

Well, I did finish my gauge swatch and I cast-on the cardigan today.
Since Tracy mentioned the outdoors, I am on a super tight budget so I bought
one planter box for my porch railing and plan on buying one each year until
I have the number I want. I will be planting black and yellow striped
petunias if I can find them this year, or just yellow petunias and a row of
yellow marigolds. I will be deciding this year what I want to do next year
around my mailbox. This year, we will kill off the grass and put out
something to keep the ants out of my mailbox. The previous owners left a
mailbox that was infested with ants.

I'm just doing a lot of work in my yard, getting seedlings ready to put in
the garden, getting the garden organized, putting out the fountain,
organizing hoses . There's a lot of work to do. Good thing Spring gives me
a shot of energy to do it.
And several plants I wasn't sure made it through the winter have started to
leaf out. I'm very happy about that.
