Dixie, it’s called Tree of Life sweater, and I bought it from Lion Brand. The pattern is very accessible. I changed the gauge, but I did calculations to figure out the difference, and they actually worked out.
It’s quite possible that Lion Brand had a similar pattern, back in the day when Mom bought it. Hers is more complex. So now I have 2 beautiful sweaters with this great pattern.
Becky, I do treasure the sweaters I got from my mother, both those she gave me and those my sister and divided up after her passing. She was a great knitter. She won blue ribbons at the Montana State Fair. I am so happy to have some of her work here with me.
Henry, I don’t know if Mom meant me to find the sweater just now. If she did, I’m delighted she said Hi.

I love this!
What is the name of the pattern you’re making?
Where did you find it?

The cardigan I’m making now has 2 trees on each side of the front, created by cables.
This morning I pulled out a sweater my mom made decades ago, and there were the same trees on the front! The pattern around them is different, but the trees feel the same.
I thought it was so cool, that we both chose the same kind of pattern. It made me feel close to Mom, who sadly passed 20 years ago.
