Typically, a shawl is as long as your wingspan. Your wingspan is your 
arms held straight out from your body and measure finger tip to finger 
tip. This is also generally the same as your height. This is for a 
typical triangle shawl. If no one else give you a pattern, I will dig 
out mine. It is the basic feather and fan part but you have to decide if 
you want a boarder and add that and if you want to sub-divide into panels.
