Magic ring is not the same as Magic loop.
What you are referring to is a knitting technique of using 2 circulars
instead of knitting with the Magic loop. That is a completely different
thing than using a magic ring in crochet.

My question is, can't you use 2 circular needles in place of the magic ring?
Every time I have done it things were just fine. I wanted to make something
one time, and emailed with Dixie, and she seemed to say that it comes out
pretty much the same. I don't want misrepresent what she said, I just know
it has worked out okay for me.

Tracy,
Let us know if you make any of these. I downloaded the audio a year ago, and
got stuck because each one begins with the magic ring and I couldn't figure
out that stitch. I do know how to do it now, I think, and a braille version
will be much easier to follow than audio for me.
Anyway, let us know your progress, please!

Sorry Henry, H is a hippo, not a horse. I was disappointed, too. But there
is a unicorn, and a zebra.
