Dixie, I am a crochet gal.

Magic ring, and then twelve double crochet in ring is how it begins.

Becky, Which pattern are you using fo the round blanket? Knit or Crochet? It sounds interesting.

I have wanted to make a Christmas Tree skirt, and having it round with 12 sections could fit the bill.

Wow, a temperature blanket in black, gray and white. That is pretty shocking to my understanding of a temp blanket. Now I happen to be making an afghan those colors with a sprinkling already in the yarn of a deep pink nearly a red. It is called something but at 6 a.m. and I have not slept yet, blank is the name right now.

To me it is all perspective. Around here if it is raining everyone is gray. Me, I am doing a hallelujah dance, as fire has come way to close to my home, three miles away. I would have happy colors for these rainy days especially in the summer here when it is dry.

By the way my afghan is round. When my husband died a dear friend bought me this lovely light gray afghan that is on my couch now. I thought the round afghan with several colors would be such a cool idea to lay over the rectangle light gray. This pattern has twelve points, which jells beautifully with my Christianity.

I am a big fan of black gray and white, just never thought about it for a version of a temp blanket.

Warm hugs,

Becky stretching her mind a bit, ouch!

I am making progress on the cardigan but no steps complete to report this week.

I have started planning a temperature blanket that will cover my first year in my new home. My first night here was July 24, 2024. We had plenty of changes in the temperature so it will be interesting. I am planning to do 12 blocks for the months with a border all around and I am considering putting Home and the date in the border. Since it will be a completed year by the time I start, I will write out the pattern. I am wanting to do this in shades of black, gray, and white but want a machine wash and dry yarn. So, I need to write out the pattern next and then decide on yarn.

I bought some lace yarn. I’ve always been afraid to try knitting lace with lace yarn, but Knitpicks is having a sale and I saw a pattern that sounds interesting, so I bought it. It’s knit on size 4 needles, which I know I can handle easily. It won’t be social knitting; there will be a fair bit to keep track of on each row, but it will be interesting and a new challenge.

I won’t start it for a while, because I’m finishing a sweater and then knitting a throw, but I should be able to get to it some time this fall, and then we’ll see.

Tracy
