We have a quilting group that makes one to auction off at our fiesta, each
fall!

We have a sewing group in our church. These fine ladies started off as a
craft group, then decided to raise money to help others, thus they migrated
into sewing, but do welcome others and there crafts. I have made many things
these fine ladies have sold. But oh my they make glorious quilts. They made
one especially for me I have proudly on my bed. For a while, when my
husband would not make his dog sleep on the floor, I had it over the half
wall. This half wall was above my dining room. So when people came I pointed
up, and heard a lot of gasps of how beautiful the quilt was. Many went up
the steps to get another look.
We are not the only church with a prayer shawl ministry. There is also the
senior Center. There group is called Chicks with sticks. I asked a friend
who goes there to let me know who to get in touch with so I could join in
down the road some.
Right now I am joining these craft type of lists. I am very slow.

I joined a new knitting group this week. A friend told me about it. Shes
one of the organizers. Its a cancer support group, and it meets at a
bakery/café a couple blocks from me. Very convenient.
I really enjoy having a knitting group. Its fun to knit and chat, and I
can be inspired by what other people are making. Sometimes I can help
someone, or someone can help me. Its nice to get out and socialize.
Id be interested to hear how other people find craft groups to join. I
found this one through a friend. There used to be 2 at a local yarn store,
which sadly closed. I know Terry P and Henry knit at their church. Are
there other ways to find a group?
Tracy
