The blind Barbie was a popular door prize at our NFB NJ convention.  I was a bit disappointed she only had a white cane, and now Ohio NAGDU is fixing that!

Are you part of the NAGDU list?  Perhaps you could advertise there, too.  Your ad is both guide dog and NFB-related.

 

The New York City library for the blind had a class a while back for blind people who wanted to learn about 3-D printing.  It sounded interesting, but I was otherwise engaged at the time.  Chancey Fleet organized it.

This weekend was the Ohio NFB state convention and I had a great time connecting with other blind people and not being the minority. The Ohio Association of Guide Dog Users is raising money by making and selling 3D guide dogs that are sized for the blind Barbie. Can I promote this on here? My sighted husband is making the 3D dogs because, sadly, 3D printers are very limited in their accessibility but there are a group of people trying to change that. I really don’t want to do anything against list policy.

It’s Successful Saturday!  Have you started or finished a project, or achieved a goal?  Share it with us and we’ll celebrate with you.

 

I’m going to harvest a lovely big lemon from my tiny lemon tree!  Usually they fall off when they’re very small, but this one has made it to full size and smells amazing.  I’m trawling the internet for a great recipe to use it in.  I’m thinking lemon curd with cupcakes or muffins.  Oh yeah!
