Yes, that sounds right to me.

So, I tried it with less stitches because I am using bigger needles and regular cotton.

So in theory, if I start with 38 stitches and increase, I should have 46 then go back to 38?

Thanks.

I forgot to say that the pattern works because it’s in garter stitch. Knitting every row makes the increases and decreases come out even on both sides. It’s important to mark which side starts row 1, so you keep track of where you are. Mark the “right side”.

Hi Lovette.

This is an interesting pattern. I love the color names—coyote brown, mothwing, thunder grey.

The scallop section is labeled “Scallop Section”, and it is a heading on the website.

You do the increase row 8 times, then work even for 6 rows, then do the decrease row 8 times. Then you repeat that pattern, starting again with the decrease row. Pretty clever. It’s simple and does the job without any fuss.

Does that make it any clearer? If not, maybe someone else can explain it better.

Hi there,

my daughter would like me to knit this but I’m kind of confused as to what is the scalloped part to repeat?

Hope someone can help make this clearer.
