One of the great things about seed stitch is it doesn’t curl.  At least not if you do it for 5-6 stitches.

Seed Stitch seems to be my go to border now too.

I just hope that it doesn’t decide to curl up on me as the middle of the scarf will be in Stockinette stitch.

The seed stitch should "stay" as well as the garter and I personally like the look better, especially with it already on the sides.

I have a shawl like that, and the garter does make it stay put, but it has maybe 12 inches of garter, and I don’t want more than say 3.
