This is the brick stitch Laurie has been teaching. It builds on the ladder
stitch. This is an ongoing series of classes.

Brick stitch

begin by creating a 2 bead ladder 10 rows wide.

Pick up 4 beads.

Pass needle between the first and second 2-bead groups.

pull gently and position the 4 beads under the bead groups.

Pass needle down through the 2 beads on the right side.

Pick up 2 beads.

pass needle between the next 2 bead groups.

Pass needle down through the new beads you just picked up.

Begin the next row, pick up 4 beads as you did in the previous row.

------

Attach the clasp using a loop of 6 beads.

Once you have finished the last row of brick stitch, tie off your row by
inserting the needle between the last 2 bead groups. Bring your thread over
the needle 3 or 4 times. Pull thread gently forming a knot around the thread
between the beads. You will not be able to feel the knot, but it is there.
To make sure, tug lightly on the beads at the end of the row. If they are
still too loose, repeat the steps again.

Pass needle through the bead groups until you reach the middle of the row.

Pick up 3 beads and the clasp. Pass needle down through the 3 beads and
through the beads in your row.

Pass needle through the adjacent bead group.

Pick up 3 beads. Pass needle through the lasp and back down through the 3
beads and exiting out of the bead you started from Pull tight.

Tie off the end between the bead groups like you did in the previous step.

Repeat these steps using the tail thread at the beginning of the bracelet.
