[NFB-Blind-Crafters] PFB, purl front and back

It’s a thought, but I don’t see how I could twist just the back loop.
The part with all the pfb’s is a border, so it could conceivably be worked in a different way, or omitted altogether. I’m going to give it a try and see how hard it actually is. I’ve put in a lifeline, so it will be easy to pull it out and do something else instead, if it’s too much.
Unless someone has a great way to do the pfb.

Wow, that is almost enough for me to not consider making the pattern.
I hate doing the purl in the back loop. Usually what I do is twist the loop half a turn clock-wise, put it back on the left needle and purl in the front. I though am not sure it that technique would work if doing in the front then the back of the same stitch.

I’m coming to the border section of the Kanak Shawl, which uses a lot of pfb’s, purl front and back. I’d welcome any hints about how to make this stitch.
Cindy wrote about it, but she says she does Continental knitting, and I do American.
I made an experiment, trying to do a pfb. I did an ordinary purl, without flipping the loop off the left needle, then I brought the yarn to the back (knit position), put my needle up through the back of the loop on the left needle, wrapped my yarn, and flipped the loop off the left needle.
Is that how it’s done, or is there an easier way?
Thanks.
Tracy
