Should I over cast or go in and out, when I sew it up.

Maybe I will get adventureous, if I can find some gray thread!

Also some black for a small hole on the black one!

These are ribbed sweaters, I have about worn out!

I love wairing them around the house.  I do not want to give them up!

Good share with us about sewing stretchy fabric. Terry if you were here I would sew your sweater. The needle goes in one side of the fabric and out the other as close to the sceme as you can. The smaller the stiches the better. I have sewn many a sweater with this technique. You do not need to see to do this. You make a not in the double thread attach your self threading needle in one of the threads. Make the needle go on one end while your not is on the other.

 

Let me know when you are ready for more instruction and I wil continue.

If you happen to have a craftsy.com membership, I am currently listening to a class on sewing knits (stretchy fabric).

I am just getting to the parts of actually sewing, so I can't answer your question, but yes, you need thread to match your material and you need to use stitches designed for stretchy fabric.

Cindy has slots available in the September chat schedule for a class or 2 on hand sewing.

I can teach how to thread a needle, sew a seam or hem, how to sew on a patch or apliqué, and, if people want, how to sew on a button.  I taught buttons before, but it was a couple years ago.

Is there interest in any of these things?  If so, which ones?
