[NFB-Blind-Crafters] FW: Joyce Kane Passes

I have very fond memories of Joyce.  I first met and talked with her at the NFB convention, when the crafters group was first organized.  She was very encouraging and told me that blindness should not keep me from enjoying any craft I wished to take on.

Later, my sister Pamela visited with Joyce, who gave her some very valuable tips about quilting.

I know Joyce’s contributions will long be remembered and passed on to new crafters.

She was so nice to me when I sat in a Christmas class. She taught me that blindness shouldn’t stop you from learning and doing crafts. She was the first blind person to tell me about her experience with her sewing, quilting and embroidery machines. I will be forever grateful for learning about her experiences being a blind crafter who never stopped learning about new techniques.

She contributed so much, what do the group thing about a collective project, something to give her son and daughter. I feel bad that I won’t be able to assist, my arm is still in a sling for three weeks. Followed by PT and all. But I thought I would make the suggestion.

I am so sorry to hear about Joyce Passing.

She was so helpfully in the past.

If it wasn’t for Joyce and others I wouldn’t be able to do the craft I now do.

I know Joyce will now be teaching those in Heaven how to do all sorts of craft.

Rest in Peace Joyce you will never be forgotten

It is with sadness that I inform you that Joyce Kane passed away recently. She was a lifelong member of the NFB of CT. Founder of the Southern Connecticut Chapter in Milford and the Krafters Division. There are no arrangements yet. Nathanael Wales will keep you updated.
