Joyce, I am teaching on another list. It does not matter if there is two student or twenty. It all shakes out and students can ask off the class for extra help. They can ask in class for a restatement. I generally restate the same thing three times three different ways. It confuses some and clarifies for others.  

Sign up is so stone age. Stay fluid and in touch with the list. I think Tracy is doing fine with her classes. I think you are doing fine with your classes, and no one signed up, big gentle hugs.

 no classes choice There has not been dues for several years, now.  I was disappointed

 I was disappointed when they stopped having sign ups for classes at least then the teacher knew how many student was gonna have. He could then contact your student basically with any information that they might need prior to the class and they have some kind of idea how many students was coming. I think that signed up for class is really not a big hardship but right now there’s nothing there’s nothing going on in the path teachers had spoken to student and made arrangement for those that couldn’t attend the class. I believe that that be done and a conversation between a student and a teacher could so Pablo’s problem Joyce.  it has been a shame that there hasn’t been very many classes. Classes were a sharing of knowledge, friendship and craft. I believe that the teacher goes through lots of prepare for class and I don’t believe that pattern or recording should be made. I do agree that in the path teachers had spoken to student and made arrangement for those that couldn’t attend the class. I believe that that be done and a conversation between a student and a teacher could so Pablo’s problem Joyce.

I rarely attend any classes, due to many factors, including  the following.

*	The time of the class, as I am not in eastern time and often the times are too early for me, as I am working  
*	If there is a cost involved, I won’t attend, as I feel crafting needs to  be available to everyone. I will always stand on this principle.  
*	If the teacher is difficult to follow (from past experience) I won’t attend.  Nothing against the person personally, but I am not going to waste precious time being frustrated if I can’t follow a teacher.  
*	Family time is more important to me than crafting time.  This is just the season I am in and I don’t have time for classes.

As for pattern sharing, I think they should be shared.  If it is requested, share it.  I also agree if no one shows up for a class, the teacher shouldn’t need to teach to an empty room.

I also think we need to think about why we even have this group.  It is not to keep people from doing crafts, having them pay for kits, as we are here to share with other blind individuals that one can still craft, even if they are blind.  We are here for friendship and fellowship, without drama and excess that no one needs in their life.  Perhaps, someone is nervous, possibly being newly blind, and are not comfortable crafting yet.  They may be adjusting to many things and I am glad we don’t have near the drama we used to have.  

Sometimes, a regular email update, like “Tuesday Tips” or “Friday Fun” may be more appealing to some, as it gets discussion going and adds to that relationship building.  I always liked the “Wednesday’s Questions,” until someone got upset when someone else asked a question, rather than the regular question person.  Have it a time where a question can spark new questions and stay away from the rigidity of having to have it a certain way.  

I feel we need to be open to people asking questions and not shame them if their question seems odd of absurd.  We are all different and questions should not be mocked.  Honestly, I haven’t seen this recently, but it has happened in the past.

Well, I have been outspoken enough this morning.  I just know what works for me and it is just a few of my thoughts.

Good Morning Jolene and Everyone, I have rethought my original statements about not giving a person the patterns if they don’t attend the classes. As you have pointed out Jolene, sometimes people can’t attend a class because of some conflicts, and, let’s face it, “Life does happen.”

ii too agree that if there arent any attendees then the class should not be taught. i also agree about the legalities in that everyone should be told that the class is being recorded and if you dont want to be recorded then you can choose to remain silent. participation in the class indicates your consent to be recorded if you choose to speak.

as far as patterns go, if you dont attend the class but want to and then download the recording i think you should be given the patterns if you request them.

there are lots of reason why folks have conflicts in attending classes. the recordings make it so you dont have to offer repeat classes and puts less burden on instructors in the long run.

i think it would be great to try this concept.

Any time you record you must announce that it is being recorded and that if you choose speak on the recording you are giving consent to be recorded. This is a legal requirement and nothing to do with the information being sensitive. This was legally in flux and why NFB Krafters Division did not record classes.

I do think you need to let everyone know who is online that it is being recorded. Zoom also announces that the recording has been started. That way everyone does know that they are being recorded. I would very much be interested in audio reccordings of some classes.  It is not always possible to attend some of the classes I am interested in.  And, even when I attend a class, I cannot remember everything.  Maybe, I am just getting Old?

hi there. hope all is well with you. i was thinking that a lot of the classes are too late in the day for me and maybe someothers to attend. could we possibly allow audio recordings of classes so others who cant make the time slots could learn?  someone could put their phone on speaker and test this out using an audio recorder. victor stream 3 created good audio recordings this way for something i did recently. it would then probably need to be uploaded to drop box.

i know many people dont like drop box but there is a way to change the end of every drop box link so it automatically downloads to the computer downloads folder when someone activates it.

just a thought
