Hi Lovette.
I've made patterns where the designer said wool and I used acrylic, and vice versa, and they came out fine. Though I listened to the talk on Knit Happy about plant-based fibers, and she said there's a big difference between those and wool, so acrylic might be a bit different, too. She advised, gasp, making a swatch, washing it, and seeing how it came out.
I know Lion Brand and Knitpicks both have plenty of acrylic, and I haven't noticed patterns being different, but then I wasn't paying much attention.
I suppose that's not very helpful.
I saw you at the Summit!
Tracy

Hi there.
Does anyone know if there are books for knitting patterns with acrylic/synthetic yarn?
I am not a wool fan largely due to cost and taking care of it.
Thanks.
Lovette
