Seed stitch is knit 1 purl 1 on first row. Second row reverse those stitches. just repeat those two rows. No border is needed; it won't roll. But if you do it in a checker board, a border in garter can work. If you want squares, you will probably need more
rows than stitches in each square. You might want 8 stitches and 10 or 12 rows. That would be for a baby afghan. Smaller squares for a scarf.

<p style="margin: 0in; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12pt;">

<p style="margin: 0in; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12pt;">I'm back from Christmas travels. I make a lot of scarves in tube style. You can use any design, but the simple stockinet
stitch works, especially with verigated yarns. Just go around and around for sixty indches; nothing can be simpler. I use simply suft yarn if I have it or 3-ply, so scarves are double, but not too heavy. Made one for my granddaughter for Christmas, half
light blue and half medium blue as requested. She seemed quite happy. My church has a Joseph's closset where we give away lightly used coats, scarves, gloves, and socks. Hats are always in big supply, so don't make them any more, but they like these tube
scarves. Even a sweater sleeve works for something small for travelling or meetings. My gift bags are also small, and pillows can also be good, since you stuff them last. Stuffing has got so expensive, I may not buy any more.

<p style="margin: 0in; font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 12pt;">I have a very old hard cover Braille book for afghan patterns and basic stitches. I like the double moss stitch. People
like the seed stitch, but my hands get tired faster with that. Baby afghan in squares like checker board of seed and stockinet are nice

The other night I attended a meeting I knew would go on for hours. I have a hard time sitting in a meeting without something to do with my hands. I call
it constructive fidgeting. But I wanted something simple, so I wouldnt be distracted from the meeting, and my current project isnt at a simple phase. So I cast on the start of a hat for charity before I went to the meeting. Simple, easy to carry, and
good to give away when Im done. I got quite a bit done during the meeting, too.

Do other people have projects like that to take to meetings? What do you take?
