The pattern I sent calls for a worsted weight yarn. Unfortunately, this list is not organized by yarn weight, but they do separate out the yarns you can find in craft stores (right hand side of the list) from those found in specialty stores (left side). Looks like the emphasis is on soft and that acrylic yarn is fine. Two yarns that I recognize as worsted and ones that you might find in JoAnn\u2019s or Michaels are Red Heart Soft and Caron Simply Soft.
