Then I can stretch the fabric a bit to help me find the count between the pins of the 4 inch swatch. Each opening is 2 inches. I lay my swatch on a table, place these oenings over the front side of the swatch and use the tip of a needle to run across a row or up rows allowing the needle feel the hole in each stitch as I count them.
