I have a needle sizer that has a cut out area that is a verticle
line and a horizontal line. Each opening is 2 inches. I lay my
swatch on a table, place these oenings over the front side of the
swatch and use the tip of a needle to run across a row or up rows
allowing the needle feel the hole in each stitch as I count them. I
do this three or four times to make sure I am counting accurately
and then divide by two or multiply by two if the gauge is given as a
four by four.<br>
