Just an FYI for everyone, the only thing you need to double check
when making these types of scrap projects is that the yarn is the
same fiber. If you use different types, when you wash the item, it
can do weird things to the fabric.<br>
<br>
So, you can use different types of wool but make sure they all need
the same care. You can even mix wash and dry wool (superwash) with
acrylics that require the same washing instructions. Do not mix wool
and cotton unless you want the material to behave in different ways
(rows pulling against each other with each wash).<br>
<br>
I don't personally know enough to give a presentation on this, but I
have learned what to look out for when raiding the stash bins.<br>

saw a crochet pattern using scrap yarn that sounds
interesting. I think it\u2019s called the scrappy blanket.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">You crochet
a blanket, alternating a row of single crochet and a row of
double crochet. Then you take pieces of yarn long enough to
go across the blanket and weave them through the double
crochet rows. You can then crochet a border or leave the
ends of the yarn pieces as fringe. It said to not use yarn
thinner than DK, and to make either the blanket or the
scraps in a neutral color. And the scraps don\u2019t have to be
the same thickness, which should add interesting texture.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
