Thank you, Susan. I wonder if I just translated the book into print, and
used braille font when I needed to input the actual symbols. That way, I
wouldn't have to retype the whole thing, smile.

A simulated braille font looks like braille intended for visual readers.  It
has separate flat black dots in the same positions where  embossed braille
cells have raised dots. (Imagine rubbing charcoal or colored powder
carefully over embossed braille to just color the raised dots.) For example,
if you type a print equals sign into a print document and change the font of
the equals sign (not of the whole document) to SimBraille, it will look like
to a sighted reader like the braille cell with all six dots raised.

I don't use Duxbury but I think you can cut and paste a DXB file also.
Alternatively, can't you input a DXB file and have Duxbury export it as a
brf file?

Thanks, Susan. The file is in DXB format. I copied the dot locator, for
example, into a print document, and it looks like a period followed by the
equals sign, which is how the PDF version of the rule book has it. Is there
anywhere I can read more about this? Obviously, the braille of the print
version isn't going to look right in braille. I appreciate your and Don's
help so far. I would like to have the book transcribed at the end of July,
into print, if I can. I suppose, the only way to know what the print looks
like is to have a print reader describe to me what they see.

If you have the braille in a brf file in standard ASCII braille you can just
copy and paste the portion you want to have in simulated braille into a
print document and change the font and you will have the right dots.
