I first learned Braille when I was 19 at the Florida school for the deaf and blind. After I graduated from the school , I went to the Iowa Department for the blind and I learned more Braille there. Today I am taking Braille classes through Hadley Institute for the Blind/VI. I have glaucoma an I am planning on becoming an paraeducator of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers who are blind and Visually Impaired with a focus on braille. Braille is great for me in case glaucoma becomes progressive. Braille has made me more confident in myself as a Visually Impaired person! I can say I love braille very much!

Today is World Braille Day, as well as Louis Braille's birthday. I'll always
be grateful for what the Braille code has given me. I've also been fortunate
enough to use a notetaker (the BrailleNote), and it helped me so much in
college. Some sighted classmates told me I wrote more quickly than them...
