Nice to meet you Mandy! I am jasmyn polite! I learned Braille at the age of 19 at my blind School, Florida school for the deaf and blind. I love Braille and it is very essential to me as well! I've been visually impaired all my life from cataracts and now glaucoma. I also plan to be a paraeducator for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Besides Braille and being good for me to teach it to young children who are blind or visually impaired Braille is also important for me since I have glaucoma and it can be a progressive eye condition to where I will have to rely on Braille. Braille is a great backup when glaucoma attack to my vision! I feel like Braille is a superpower that I have and I don't have to be really scared of glaucoma limiting my sight! :-)

I live in California and have been VI my whole life. I have been using
braille just as long. I think braille is essential for anyone who is
blind/VI. I have a old perkins brailler that I still use on occations.
Thanks.
Mandi
