Most of us don't have access to that device. It is really only intended for the reading of NLS braille books. I'm surprised you can even attempt the things you're doing with it. I'm sure when it is released to the generality of users, more information and support will be available.

Subject: [NFB-Braille-Discussion] anyone using the new NLS reader?

Hi list ken here. A couple questions about the NLS braille Ereader. Have tested it on the computer and it works great but found a couple limitations. For one thing on facebook it only reads the beginning of a post obviously only the first 20 cells I tried the auto scroll but when I did the 4-6 together with the space bar something else happened. I figured out to get to the comment or like button you use the right thumb key. Is there any way to make it read the whole status without having to use the cursor keys on the computer? Also tested it doing a radio show. All the display shows is at the beginning of a song the words scheduled for. Is there any way to make the display count down a tracks running time. I do know to advance manually to a song using that key on the right. That acts like the enter key on a computer. Also if I want to navitgate on my external drive adding a song or a spot to my playlist can I do it with the Ereader. Not using the keyboard on the computer as much. Think I’m going to test it playing a golf game today. Really working on what this baby can and can’t do now. Love it and have taken advantage of learning both it and the iPhone at the same time. Hope some of you were in the braille committee meeting when the rep from NLS talked about the reader.
