Hi Ken, I hope the following is helpful

In UEB, the asterisk is a two-symbol sign, dots 5,35
In Computer braille, the asterisk is a one-symbol sign, dots 16
In EBAE, the asterisk is a two-symbol sign that has to be standing alone,
dots 35,35
