[NFB-Braille-Discussion] Turning Word files into BRF files

Word files can be turned into BRF files using the Duxbury Braille
translation software. Duxbury has a Word importer which interprets word
formatting into Duxbury codes.

If you can harvest the text from a PDF, you can paste it into a Duxbury
print file and then translate the text. You will need to do more formatting
in Duxbury before translating the text.

The Duxbury Braille files can be saved as BRF files.

There are other Braille translation applications out there, but I am not
familiar with them.

Cordially,

Ellen

Subject: [NFB-Braille-Discussion] Turning Word files into BRF files

Hello all:

I am new to this group as well as new to using Braille with a notetaker. Is
there a way to convert Word or PDF files into BRF files?

Thank you!
Stacie
