[NFB-Braille-Discussion] Learning music braille

There are classes, but they are self study. They send you the braille or audio. If you are blind, they do not send you a video, that's for the classes for sighted people. You do the work at your own pace. If you have questions or get stuck, you email or call Hadley and ask to speak to an instructor. They have several braille instructors to answer questions and provide help for students. I think you do take some kind of test or turn in some thing that shows you learned something at the end so you can get your certificate. So it's really not as bad as some people make it out to be. If you are disciplined and fast, you can get through the classes faster rather than submitting homework after each section and waiting to get it back. If you are slow, then you won't get in trouble if you don't turn in assignments once a month. So it's not the same as before, but there are definite benefits to the new system. It's not bad.

It's a changing world, gotta be flexible and stay optimistic!

I was disappointed that there aren’t actually classes at Hadley now. Very sad.

They just spent $8 million renovating a building it would’ve been cheaper if they just tore it down and built a new building.
