[NFB-Braille-Discussion] Labeling metal spoons

Hi Georgia,
I really have not been ignoring you. Just been extremely busy here for the past couple weeks. I got some great ideas that I have not had a chance to try yet. In the past, I have filed notches in my plastic spoon and cut handles, but it’s too hard for the metal spoons. The ideas I got included: 1. Tie something through the holes of the spoon handles. 2. Find something that makes bumps either in the bowls or handles. I think I’ll try tying something through the holds and tying knots to equal: 1 knot for 1 tsp, 2 knots for half tsp or half tbl; 3 knots for 1 third tsp, and 4 knots for 1 fourth tsp. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll try the 2nd idea. There were other ideas, but these were the ones I liked the best.
Debbie

Hi Debbie, this is Georgia from Michigan. Thank you for your message. Yes
that Highmarks is difficult to use. I don't attempt to use it. I have
someone else do it. If you have time, I'd be interested in knowing about
your other methods for marking the measuring spoons. I suppose you could
file into them with something maybe But I'd be interested in in suggestions
and tips. I'm at my moms so I didn't make the meeting. Take care bye

Hi Georgia
Thanks for the tip. I almost always smear Hi Marks so I try to stay away
from that. I got some good ideas from the zoom meeting yesterday though.
Thanks again.
Take good care
Debbie.

Hi Debbie, I'm not sure if I can make the meeting on Saturday. I may have
met you when I was at the brill seminar in Baltimore several years ago. I
hope things are good in Hawaii. I really love it there. I haven't been
there in a long time though it is lovely. I have some measuring cups that I
labeled probably 30 or 40 years ago. Actually, my reader labeled them with
high marks One bat for one cup two dots for half a cup three dots for a
third a cup four dots for a quarter of a cup. The major spoons might have
to be done a little bit differently but you get the idea. Take care and
have a great week. I'm doing OK hanging in here got some health issues and
helping mom a lot as well bye.
