Dear NFB Braillers,
I hope this email finds you all well.

My name is dana Ibrahim, and I am new to the NFB Braille list. I have been
reading braille for 10+ years and am very passionate about it.

For a project, I am trying to understand the difference between ascii
braille, the obsolete computer braille, and the current computer braille
used by braille displays.
What is the difference between them?
after reading online, they seemed to be quite similar; ASCII seems to be a
subset of computer braille, but this led me to reading about the current
computer braille that braille displays use and the one that became obsolete.
What is the relation between ascii braille, the obsolete computer braille
and the computer braille used today with braille displays?
Also, when writing in a brf file on a any braille display, which of the 3
codes is used?

Thank you so much in advance.
All the best,
Dana
