Hello Jones,
this is a high school setting. I did receive a great message from dick
davis who gave me a lead. For clarity I am aware of the educational
legalities of this teacher's attitude. I dealt iwth teachers of his
attitude for 33 years. What happens is, if we push the law alone, the
student would be placed in his class but the attitude of the teacher
will override good teaching of this student. Not only that but the
teacher would demand a one-on-one adult for this student; this is not
least restrictive environment. However, the team as a whole would
probably agree with the support. I am no longer on this campus,
retired, so I can not use my years of experiences to work this out. I
found that it is best to first try to get the teacher on board with
blindness through talking, meeting other people who are blind, videos,
live examples...
