Hi.
My apologies for replying so late! I was very busy training trainers for the NDBEDP all last week. It was a lot of hard work, but man is it rewarding to to know that I'm contributing to something that will potentially positively impact the quality of life for people who are deaf-blind!
I'm here representing the state of New York, one that does not have an SSP program. The more opportunities I get to work with one more, the more I realize how nice and liberating it can be. So, what can we do as a division to move this further along? I know the best way may to try and writea grant prososal, but where does one start with that?
I hope everyone is doing well and that you're enjoying what is left of the summer.

All the best,
Scott

I feel a strong bond with those I have met here, most especially those who were present at D B Division meeting in Dallas this year. Janice, I trust that you continue to inform Burnell about what you read here,. Please give her our love, and tell her to send news of how she is doing and news about the rest of her board.

To that end, I would like to learn what of geographical structure is represented here. At some point in the future, it will be important for us to be organized. My vision is that every one of the State Affiliates of the NFB that has deaf-blind members will be represented on this list. On the state level we can begin to educate our Affiliate presidents and executive boards about the need for SSPs. I have done so in my state, Louisiana, and our president has been very responsive, supporting my efforts in educating the public about deaf-blindness. One excellent opportunity to establish a network in your state, if you don't already have one, is the HKDBA Awareness program,. If your state does not already hold a HKDBA celebration once a year,
