Dear Marsha:
  We missed having you.   I am taking steps to amke sure that we have a better experience as far as SSP's next year.  I have asked to attend Leadership  Training and am asking Mark Riccobno to work closely with us on getting volunteers and SSP's.  Furthermore, to ensure that no SSP is at the convention that is NOT registered with the NFB Jermigan Institute for the security of our convention attendees and for proper identification and coodination.  
  While I'm disappointed that the TSA pre-check Deaf-Blind resolution did not pass, I'm happy it made it on the floor.  Looking at this from a positive standpoint, many resolutions that start off in committee do not make it onto the floor. As a board member of the Travel & Tourism division, rest assured that I will stay on top of TSA pre-check program on our behalf.  
  The important thing is that we got the SSP result ion through. I have spoken with Dr. Sherry Shaw from the University this morning and Dr. Shaw will be planning training for SSP's at UNF.  So, even though the convention has just ended I am already hard at work. Working together, we can accomplish much.

I completely agree with Scott here. I wish wish wish I was in florida this year. Perhaps next year we should make relationships with the local deafblind group so that we can all have SSP's? I was very very upset the first resolution did not pass, but if I go to convention next year, which I am sure we will, I'll make sure it passes.
