This is the first step in a long road for us.
Sharon Maneki told me that what we need to do for next year in regard for the TSA resolution is to see if as many Deaf-Blind Federationists can sign up for Pre-checking and what problems exits. She was hopeful that it could be reworked for next year. She had thought that I would have spoken up in favor for the resolution. However, due to the problems I was having with the FM system that Kurtis Chong had given me I did not clearly hear what the disagreements were from the floor on the general assembly, so I remained silent. But I truly appreciate all of Sharon Maneki's support with grammer and revisions fro the resolutions.
One thing that is clear. We have to pay attention to our language and provide better background information and statistics. I think we need to start working our resolutions and planning for the coming congressional year in January so we can be prepared to answer the Affiliate questions for cogently.

Did you attend the Division meeting? Did you make it to the guide dog meetings?
I went to the first meeting but was unable to go to the second because Burnell and I got turned around returning from Walgreens and crossed the wrong street so by the time we got back it was 8:00PM on Wednesday and I didn't want to go in that late and have to hand Marion my FM system. I was disappointed because I really would have wanted to vote in the elections.

hi I was there and really thought that both resolutions should have passed but at least one did.

Hi all.
TO those who were involved with passing the resolution today regarding
the urging of congress to begin legislation to support a national SSP
program, I strongly and warmly wish to thank you and congratulate you
on a job well done! This is just the beginning, I'm well aware, but
that first shove is often the most difficult. While 1 resolution did
not pass, the second one did. It's a major step forward, in my view,
toward making the general membership aware of the issues we face in
the deaf-blind community.
I'd like to take this time to extend my support to the NFB's
deaf-blind division and to help see this resolution through. I have
more to write, but this is enough for now. Again, thank you to those
who made this resolution possible for all of your hard work!
Sincerely,
Scott Davert
