Subject: [nfb-db] April 1st Subcommittee meeting notes

Hello! Here are the results of tonight's meeting! Thank you all for
attending!

David Andrews has set up the email NFBDynamism at nfbnet.org for us and did a
TEST so that I could receive the first email. Now whenever anyone sends a
story into that email, it will be automatically forwarded to me. I forgot
to mention that I am going to create a spreadsheet to keep a record of the
stories.

The announcement is almost complete...here is what we need to do before we
can complete it.

Determine the size...before we do that we need to write our own stories:

Here is a sample of what we thought of during the meeting for an outline.
Angela, if you know how to do an outline, please let us know. There are
many out there who do not know how to write a story.

What do we need for the story?
Name
Location
Chapter, affiliate or division
What happened?
What steps were taken to find a resolution?
Conclude with the end result.

By each of us writing our story, we can determine the size:

1) 500 - 750 words?
	750 - 1000 words?

2) Next, Deadline...I need to talk to Robert to find out from him what
type of deadline should we be looking at. However, Mary Jo did
mention six months for us to receive the stories and six months for us to
read them.

3) Outline: above is a small sample and we need to do a more
professional one. Lauren or Dawn is going to ask a friend of theirs
who writes stories to see if they have an outline that we might be
able to use...maybe even talk to us on the phone about it.

4) We want all entries to be typed.

5)	I will contact David Andrews to see if he can give me a list of
chapter, affiliates and division presidents contact information.

6) When we send announcement out, we will need to contact each of the
presidents personally to encourage them to assist their members in sending
stories and to encouarage them to share.

7) I will ask Robert about having a small writers workshop at national,
this will help in announcing the project and teach how to write the story.

Next meeting will be April 15, 2014 -- 8 PM ET
						6 PM (Dawn)
						5 PM (Lauren)

If you have any questions, please let me know.

(smile)
Darlene
