Just wondering, is someone going to represent the db issues at the Texas
state convention next week? Heather

Hi Chris and Scott, and everyone out there in cyber land,
Yes this is a very very good point. Just like with other organizations who
are not as open as they should be, NFB DB should have that openness. we
should be visible. Many of the other divisions, or groups or affiliates have
facebook pages, or twitter accounts, or other social media outlets. So
should the NFB DB division.
This will be a major gola of our affiliate division once the constitution
is approved.
Having a social media view, would possibly bring people into the
organization, would help everyone know what the organization is doing, and
keep everyone on the same page.
What does everyone else think? I will do what I can to help.
My time is limited as I am back in school, but winter break is coming up.

I think you make a good point, though there are still a lot of people
who don't use computers. Part of the problem I think is we are all spread
out in so many different places. I'm sure you already know Marsha is head
of our deaf blind division here in Pennsylvania, but I am willing to do what
I can also.

Hello Sheri and all other DB devision members.
I'm replying to your message on list, as I think it is good that other
people see who is doing what and where they are doing it. I think one thing
the national DB devision needs to do is get digital. What I mean is, get on
Facebook, Twitter, get all of the officers on this mailing list, start a
news letter, publicize the website, etc. This is just my opinion, but I do
not think many of us are aware of what is happening within the national DB
devision. If members do not know, how can that help with any sort of effort
regarding DB issues? I'm not trying to criticize the leadership with this
email at all, so I hope this message is not taken that way, I'm just
offering input and suggesttions.
With warm regards,
Scott in Colorado

Hi greeting,
The NFB DB national is trying to reach out to all NFB affiliates to
establish an interest in the nfb db in all the states. It is called
"Operation Outreach". If you or someone you know is interested please let
us know. Each of the active members have states that they are trying to
find a contact person in that state who will work with their affiliate
president on matters of deaf/blind..
Thank you for your support of the deaf-blind.
Best regards,
Cheri Fields
