[NFB-DB] FW: closed captioning for Convention?

  I know there has been a rumour floating around that we wouldn’t have closed captioning.  This is the response I received from President Riccabono’s assistant.  Have a happy Convention everyone!

I’m not sure who you heard that from, but we have live captioning for basically every session. Please relay back to whoever told you that we don’t, that we do have it so someone isn’t dissuaded someone from attending the convention by something that isn’t true.

Hi Beth,

 

     Although I usually don’t use closed captioning myself, I’ve been hearing that it isn’t set up for Convention?  If this is the case, then those who are Deafblind who do need that service in order to access and interact with the Convention will be left out.  I hope that either this isn’t the case, or that there is a quick solution.  I know tomorrow one of the Diversity meetings is for people with multiple and secondary disabilities, and I would feel very disappointed if that and so many of the other valuable meetings aren’t closed captioned.
