Subject: Re: [NFB-DB] Iplants

I have a cochlear implant in my right ear and a hearing aid in my left ear. I know they make a few different kinds of cochlear implants, but the one I have is worn just like a hearing aid and is just about as visible. I love my CI and it has given me results way better than a hearing aid in that ear, but your results may vary depending on how much language you have. The best thing to do is go get evaluated for one. You will have a thorough hearing test, and the audiologists can answer your questions based more on your specific situation. As far as recovery, there was very little pain, but it took me about three months before I really felt comfortable using it. I had to basically learn to hear again out of that ear. I hope this helps.

Hi everyon,

I’m thinking about implants and I wanted to ask some questions.

Howvisible are the implants?

Are they totally better then hearing aids?

Do you like them versus hearing aid? How long was the recovery process?

Thanks,
