Hi Karen,
I have two books at National Braille Press:
When Your Ears Can’t Help You See
Is available in hardcopy braille, hardcopy large print, or downloadable in several formats.
You can call them at 800-548-7323 or visit
www.nbp.org <http://www.nbp.org>
Click on the Our Bookstore link. The books are organized alphabetically by title, so go to page 12 or so to find it.
Hope this helps!
Deborah

Hi,
I don’t think I introduced myself either. I have RP with just a little vision left, but it too is diminishing. My hearing loss in one ear was most likely due to a previous job. In the other ear it was due to leakage of radiation up into the Trigeminal nerve. I also have less sight in that eye too.
Deborah, is your book still available at NBP? Is it on BARD or Bookshare?
Karen

Hello,
Not sure if I have introduced myself on this list previously, but I am weighing in now because I wanted to say hello to Robin Diane Graves whose dual sensory loss comes from the same place as my own. Being blind from retinoblastoma never seemed like a huge deal to me, but losing my hearing from the radiation therapy for the retinoblastoma has been a long and challenging road.
I wrote a book during the pandemic, WHEN YOUR EARS CAN’T HELP YOU SEE, published by National Braille Press, designed to help newcomers to dual sensory loss with strategies. That said, all of you are helping me with every word I read in these messages.
Thank you! Oh, and where I live is sometimes Florida, sometimes Ohio. Florida now till June 7, then back and forth between Ohio and Florida till December.
Keep those words of wisdom coming!
Peace,
Deborah

Hi Maryann!
Welcoms to the list. My name is Diane Graves. I am totally blind due to retinoblastoma, and I have a sever hearing loss theoretically due to the radiation therapy I underwent as a child.
It is very nice to meet you. Are you new to the federation, or just new to the list?
Diane Graves
