[NFB-DB] FW: Notification of AGM; call for volunteers

Hello Fellow DB Division Members:

 

I'm forwarding the following FYI.  In case anyone is interested, DeafBlind
International is holding its meeting in Ottawa very soon.  My husband,
Randy, and I attended DBI's conference of the Americas a few years ago, and
it was absolutely fascinating.  You may want to attend the general meeting
by Zoom if you are not planning to travel to Ottawa.  In addition, DBI is
requesting our expertise examining their material for accessibility.  I
don't often promote the unpaid volunteering of our services, but in this
case the reward would be rubbing shoulders briefly with world leaders in the
study and promotion of DB people worldwide.

 

And congratulations to the new board!  There couldn't be a better time for a
new beginning.  Best wishes.  You guys rock!

Dear members of DbI,

 

I have two pieces of information to share with you today.  

 

1.	The Annual General Meeting is fast approaching!  The meeting will be
taking place during the 18th DbI World Conference in Ottawa on July 23,
2023.  For those members who are not able to come to Canada for the
conference, we are offering the opportunity to join the Annual General
Meeting virtually by Zoom.  The meeting will begin at 1:00 pm Eastern
Daylight Time and is expected to last for approximately 45 minutes.  If you
are interested in joining the meeting through Zoom, please let me know as
soon as possible.  I will then send you the Zoom link and the agenda for the
meeting.

 

2.	Attached to this email is a call for volunteers to be part of an
accessibility team.  Please review the flyer and contact Vikram Choudhary if
you have any questions or if you are interested in being part of this team.
