[NFB-DB] Fwd: Pledge and belief message

It brings tears to my eyes that the pledge is "to achieve equality,
opportunity, and security for the blind; to support the policies and
programs of the Federation;" considering how starkly those two things
are in contrast on equality and opportunity to vote for the blind when
they are homebound and unable to attend in-person. Meanwhile It's true
that "Every day we raise the expectations of blind people," because my
expectations for more obstacles to be made manifest to equality and
opportunity are indeed raised every day I read about no intent to
change for the better. I do think, "Our collective power,
determination, and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind
people," should probably change "of all blind" to "of the dominating
majority of blind" since I can attest to there being blind persons
whose aspirations for certain aren't being achieved under the province
of that "collective power." May 2025 be the year those in power begin
to listen to those who are oppressed. Happy new year to all!
