[NFB-DB] Notice of NFBDB Public Board Meeting

Good afternoon, NFB DeafBlind Division

 

I trust this message find all of you well and enjoying the fall season!  

I am writing to inform all of you that the NFB DeafBlind Division will hold
its next public board meet the evening of Wednesday, October 8 at 8 PM
Eastern, 7 PM Central, 6 PM Mountain, and 5 PM Pacific Time. 

The agenda is in the process of being finalized, and it will be sent out,
along with the connection information, within the next several days.  As of
this writing, however, we plan to provide a general overview including the
following:  

*	Discussion of the new Strategic Plan for the division.
*	Feedback on the most recent National Convention
*	Discussion of fundraising initiatives for the upcoming year.
*	Discussion of the future of the Support Service Program and what it
should look like going forward. 
*	Any other business raised by either the board or the membership.

 

 

I would like to emphasize that while official votes will be taken by board
members, the meeting will be open for all members to give their feedback. 

As I stated at our business meeting at National Convention, this is your
division, and I wish to ensure that your interests are represented fairly,
so I would encourage all members to provide us with any feedback you may
have. 

 

If you require any specific accommodations for the meeting, please let me
know as soon as possible.  I plan to request interpreting and captioning
services later this week, and I wish to ensure I have accurate numbers for
those who require it. I wish to ensure that your participation in division
activities can be maximized! I remain very accessible, so do not hesitate to
reach out if you have any questions or if there is anything else you would
like to raise.

Finally, I know some there continue to be issues with the NFB Net list
servs, which includes our list. In consulting with Dave Andrews, it appears
the team at the NFB National office is actively working to resolve this
issue, yet it may still result in some members not receiving emails posted
here. If you know of anyone who is not receiving emails from our list serv,
please feel free to forward them.
