[NFB-DB] Storing and cleaning hearing aids, at night?

Here in Mexico, (yesterday when I went to the new audiologist I asked about this) we're still using those jars with little beads inside, with a sponge atop of the beads; every three or four months, the beads change colors, thus a sign that they need to go into the Microwave, so they can be ready for use another couple of months.

Several months ago, from Amazon (supposedly it's newer technology, which the audiologist doesn't know about these), I got myself what's called Acu-Life Dri-Eze Hearing Aid Dehumidifier which is a plastic jar, in which there's a sponge which does the function of the little beads; it's valid for 4-6 months; you put the hearing aids in the jar, in which the sponge absorbes the sweat and humidity accumulated during the day. Have you guys heard of this technology before? Is it in use where you guys are, be the US., or Canada? Is it true (that's what the new audiologist told us yesterday) that the classic jar in the beads is more effective to help keep our hearing aids clean? If not, what's in use out there nowadays? The audiologist said something about if the hearing aid doesn't fix itself with the new earhook, he'd put it in an electric dehumidifier for three hours. So are these electric dehumidifiers are only for use in audiologist offices? So what's in use for home use then nowadays?
