Unfortunately, there was no campaigning since we were the only team who submitted the letter of intent to run as President and Vice President. We would love to have some competition in the election to give members a choice who they want, but that is not to be. This might make our job harder as some of you may think that we did not earn it. So, in this case, we will face the challenge in gaining your support to help AADB into a great advocacy organization for all of you.<br> <br> We acknowledge that AADB does have major issues that need to be addressed. To be absolutely clear, we are not here to blame, point fingers, or put down anyone for the problems that affect AADB. That would not do AADB or anyone any good. <br> <br> What we are really interested in is to make a big difference that will change the direction of AADB where it will rise again as stronger consumer-driven national organization of, for, and by DeafBlind people. We both care deeply about DeafBlind people. That is why we submitted our nomination for President/Vice President to lead AADB in the path to improve the quality of life of the DeafBlind people.<br> <br> We are currently working on setting up a transition team that will help us set priorities and make plans to address important issues when we take over the leadership of AADB on July 1st. We very much look forward to leading AADB to a brighter future, and that means a brighter future for DeafBlind people, too. <br> <br> As we begin the transition, feel free to send us your suggestions, feedback and even your interest in working with us! We need your help to lead AADB as the only national, consumer- driven organization for all DeafBlind people in the USA.
