Hi Sheila,
Your insurance will usually pay for Cochlear implants provided you
meet the requirements. Otherwise, it costs, roughly $50,000 for the
surgery. I believe that you have to have to be profoundly deaf with
difficulty in comprehension but I can't remember the exact percent
or number at the moment.
hi I just got my hearing aides adjusted on Friday. My T coils are
now activated. I didn't even know that they needed to be. I
thought that because they were a part of my aides that they were
automatically activated. I also want to know because someone asked
me if I would be getting implants, how much hearing loss do you
need to have to need them? I also know they are really expensive,
and does insurance pay for them? just want to know in case this
discussion comes up.thanks much.
